Croydon - Multiple Temporary Traffic Restrictions, Road Closures and Parking/Loading Suspensions

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Tamworth Road, Croydon Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate tram track maintenance works, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Tamworth Road, Croydon.
2.
During the said work Tamworth Road will be closed between its junctions with Cairo New Road and London Road / North End, including the bus lane.3.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

Whilst the restrictions are in force the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below.• Reeves Corner, Roman Way (northbound), Summer Road, and London Road
• Reeves Corner, Roman Way (southbound), Old Town, Croydon Flyover, Park Lane, Wellesley Road and Station Road.

The Order will come into operation on 14 May 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within sixteen days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.Oscar Akintoye Head of Highways & Traffic,

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Upper Shirley Road, Croydon - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic
1.
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate underground cabling works on behalf of UKPN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Upper Shirley Road, Croydon.2.
Whilst the said works are taking place:(a) Upper Shirley Road access road will be closed outside Nos. 144 to 148 Upper Shirley Road, between its junction with the main carriageway of Upper Shirley Road and its junction with Sandpits Road.
(b) The footway outside Nos. 146 and 148 Upper Shirley Road will be closed.

During the closure the diversion route for vehicular traffic will be via: Upper Shirley Road, Sandpits Road and reversed. Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite footway.4.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into the closed road.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.

The Order will come into operation on 14 May 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. 1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate tram track maintenance works, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Bedford Park, Poplar Walk and Wellesley Road, Croydon.
2.
During the said works:(a) Vehicles will be banned from turning right from Wellesley Road onto Bedford Park.
(b) Vehicles will be banned from turning right from Poplar Walk onto Wellesley Road.
3.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
4. Whilst the restrictions are in force the diversion route for traffic will be via
: Wellesley Road (northbound), Newgate, and Wellesley Road (southbound).5.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Park Street, Croydon - Temporary Suspension Of Parking/Loading Arrangements
1.
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate safety during construction works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily suspend parking and loading arrangements on Park Street, Croydon.2.
Whilst the said works are taking place:(a) The taxi rank outside Nos. 3 to 7 Park Street will be suspended to prohibit its use.
(b) The loading bay on the south side of Park Street, adjacent to the junction with St George’s Walk, will be suspended for use as a temporary taxi rank, allowing no stopping except taxis twenty-four hours a day, seven days week.
(c) The footway outside Nos. 3 to 7 Park Street will be closed and pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway.

The Order will come into operation on 28 May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months.4.
These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:(a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
