What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL (SYLVAN WAY, SHIREHAMPTON, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Sylvan Way from A4 Portway to Shirehampton Road.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and becomes operative from 26th May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 26th May 2026 and 30th July 2027).

North eastbound (under 3.5t) – A4 Portway, Bridge Valley Road, Clifton Down Road, Upper Belgrave Road, Westbury Road, White Tree Roundabout, Parrys Lane, Shirehampton Road

North eastbound (over 3.5t) – A4 Portway, Hotwells Road, Jacobs Wells Roundabout, Jacobs Wells Road, Berkeley Road, Triangle West, Queens Road, Whiteladies Road, Upper Belgrave Road, Westbury Road, White Tree Roundabout, Parrys Lane, Shirehampton Road South westbound – Shirehampton Road, Park Hill, The Green, High Street, Lower High Street, Avonmouth Road, Portway Roundabout, A4 Portway
