THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(FRANCIS STREET BLACKPOOL) 

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 14 May 2026 the Blackpool Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to carry out construction works and placement of scaffolding and apparatus in the highway. The effect of the Order will be to:

a.   Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along a section of Francis Street, Blackpool at its junction with Cocker Square to its junction with the unnamed gated alleyway to the side of no 15 Francis Street.

b.  Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the unnamed gated alleyway located at the side of 15 Francis Street from its junction with Francis Street to its junction with the rear of the property on Dickson Road.

Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 26 May 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 67 days.
