Rochdale - Multiple Road Traffic Notices

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HEALEY DELL, WHITWORTH, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council consider it necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public that the prohibition should come into force without delay under Section 14(2)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Healey Dell, Rossendale from its junction with Shawclough Road to outside property named Healey Dell Cottages. 

2. Nothing in this notice shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 1200 hours on Wednesday 29th April 2026 until 2359 hours on Tuesday 19th May 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. 

4. Nothing in Article 1 of this Notice shall make it unlawful to proceed over the said road if the vehicle is being used for or in connection with the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to the said road; 

5. A diversion will be signed locally. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent bridge works, works to be carried out by Rochdale Brough Council.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Healey Dell, Rossendale from its junction with Shawclough Road to outside property named Healey Dell Cottages.

2. Nothing in this notice shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 2359 hours on Tuesday 19th May 2026 April 2026 until 2359 hours on Tuesday 21st August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. 

4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.

5. A diversion will be signed locally.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent bridge works, works to be carried out by Rochdale Brough Council.
