TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along: -
Gigg Lane, Bury – between Manchester Road & Heaton Fold
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate highway improvement works and delivery of the Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme
The alternate route will be via Manchester Road, Parkhills Road, Market Street & vice
versa
The proposed Order will come into operation on 01/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 4 weeks.
