(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Lane – from the junction with A265 High Street to the junction with U6895 Fysie Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6895 Fysie Lane – U6196 Burgh Hill – A265 High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 and 2 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C96 Netherfield Hill, Netherfield Road – A2100 London Road – A271 Ten Sixty-Six roundabout, North Trade Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road and vice versa.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Terminus Avenue – from the junction with B2098 Collington Avenue to the junction with U6535 Sutherland Avenue.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6535 Terminus Avenue – U6536 Westcourt Drive – U6534 Collington Avenue – B2098 Collington Avenue and vice versa.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Temporary Road Closures
The Deals – from the junction with U6436 Wish Ward to the junction with A259 Strand Quay.
Diversion via U6438 The Strand – A259 Strand Quay and vice versa.
Wish Ward – from the junction with U6437 The Deals to the junction with A268 Wish Street.
Diversion via U6438 The Strand – A259 Strand Quay, Wish Street roundabout – A268 Wish Street and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic set out above.
The Order commences 1 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 9 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Lower Street – from the junction with A269 Bexhill Road to the junction with B2095 Hooe Road.
Diversion via A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road, London Road, Combe Valley Way – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road, Little Common roundabout, Barnhorn Road, Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 May 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:

Eversley Road – from the junction with U6559 St Leonards Road to the junction with B2182 Marina.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6559 St Leonards Road – U6552 Devonshire Road – B2182 Marina.
The Order commences 21 May 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 9 April 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 30 April 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 21 May and 21 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
