NOTICE OF MAKING OF PUBLIC PATH ORDERS HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOOTPATH 9 HELLIFIELD (05.25/9) DIVERSION ORDER 2026

FOOTPATH 10 HELLIFIELD (05.25/10) EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026

Footpath 9 Hellifield (05.25/9) Diversion Order 2026

The above order, made on 5 May 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the section of public footpath at Goal Farm, Hellifield, that runs from grid reference SD 8707 5737 (point A on the order map) along a track for 94 metres to SD 8706 5746 (point B), then north east and then north across a builders’ yard for 65 metres to SD 8710 5750 (point C), then north west for 23 metres to SD 8708 5751 (point D) (total length: 182 metres), so as to run, from SD 8707 5737 (point A), in a north easterly direction for 15 metres to a timber step stile at SD 8708 5738, then proceeding through a landscape area outside the boundary of the builders’ yard for 143 metres to SD 8715 5750 (point E), then west for 78 metres to SD 8708 5751 (point D) (total length 236 metres), as shown on the order map.

Footpath 10 Hellifield (05.25/10) Extinguishment Order 2026

The above order, made on 5 May 2026 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish a section of public footpath 05.25/10 at Goal Farm, Hellifield, that runs from SD 8715 5750 (point E on the order map) in a generally westerly direction across the builders’ yard for 59 metres to SD 8710 5750 (point F) on public footpath 05.25/9 (total length 59 metres).

All distances are approximate. The orders will not take effect unless and until confirmed.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to The Solicitor, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 3EL not later than 12 June 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority may confirm the orders as an unopposed order. If either order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
