THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.298) ORDER 2026

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.200) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 14th May 2026 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 32, 35 and 49 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

Stanhope Gardens NW7

In order to improve parking opportunities for residents and their visitors and to reduce obstruction and improve traffic flow, the general effect of the above orders will be to:

(a) increase by length of the existing resident parking bay opposite Nos.9 to 11 Stanhope Gardens NW7 by approximately 5 metres.

(b) upgrade the existing 11am to 12pm Monday to Friday waiting restrictions outside Nos.22 to 27 Stanhope Gardens and Meadowgate Close NW7 to operate ‘at any time’.

Ballards Lane N12

In order to provide a place for vehicles to load and unload continuously for up to 40 minutes the general effect of the Free parking places order will be to remove 10 metres of No loading ‘at any time’ restrictions outside Nos.332 and 334 Ballards Lane N12.

Hale Lane N12

In order to improve parking opportunity for local residents the general effect of the Free parking places order will be to convert the existing business permit holder only parking bays operating Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm to shared use resident permit holder/business permit holder only parking bays outside No.267 and No.269 Hale Lane HA8.

Highfield Road NW11

As part of a scheme to extend the footway on Highfield Road NW11, leading to the Leeside Crescent footpath/alleyway, the general effect of the Orders will be to remove the existing of Monday to Friday 11am to 12 Midday single yellow line waiting restriction and resident permit holder only parking at the northernmost section of Highfield Road NW11.

Barnet Lane and Westcombe Drive EN5

In order to maintain road safety and traffic flow, deter obstructive parking, and improve sightlines and safety, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be to formalise lengths of ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions at the following locations:

(a) Barnet Lane EN5, east side, near its junction with Westcombe Drive

(b) At the junction of Westcombe Drive and Barnet Lane EN5

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Wednesday 20th May 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
