ALLERDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2018

(VARIATION NO 2) (WORKINGTON) ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Cumberland Council ("the Council") made the above Order on 12th May 2026, under Sections 32, 33, 34, 35, 35A, 35C and 39 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The Order will come into operation on 19th May 2026 and its effect will be to vary the Allerdale Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2018 ("the 2018 Order"), by adding the entry specified in the Schedule below into Schedule 1 of the 2018 Order.

NB: The operation of the car park will change from a barrier, "pay on exit" system to a "pay and display" system.

3. Full details of the Order, together with a plan, and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, and a copy of the Order to be varied, may be:-

(i) viewed on the Council’s website using the following link: https://cumberland.gov.uk/tro;

(ii) on deposit at Allerdale House, New Bridge Road, Workington, CA14 3YJ; and

(iii) at the offices of the undersigned; and may otherwise be obtained by emailing car.parks@cumberland.gov.uk.

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 12th May 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
