What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2030 ULLOCK, C2030, U2I97 AND U2I96 MOCKERKIN, U2275 BEACON CLOSE, ASPATRIA AND C2032 AND 15086 DEANSCALES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to:

A. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. C2030 Ullock, from its junction with the A5086, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 780m.

Alternative Route: via the C4006 and the A5086.

Duration: From 18 May 2026 for approx. 29 days (Ref: TTROC/17928)

2. C2030 Mockerkin, from its junction with the A5086, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 830m

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2030, C4022 Lamplugh and A5086.

Duration: From 18 May 2026 for approx. 29 days (Ref: TTROC/17950)

(i) U2I97 Mockerkin, from its junction with the C2030, to its junction with the U2I96; and

(ii) U2I96 Mockerkin, from its junction with the C2030, to its junction with the Alternative Route: via the C2030.

Duration: From 16 June 2026 for approx. 28 days (Ref: TTROC/17953)

3. U2275 Beacon Close, Aspatria, from its junction with the B5301, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 100m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 8 June 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18395)

4. C2032 Deanscales, from its junction with the A5086, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 30m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2032, U2I93, U2I94 and A5086.

Duration: From 26 May 2026 for approx. 21 days (Ref: TTROC/18215)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

B. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour along that section of the A5086 Deanscales, from a point adjacent to the property known as Lea Cottage, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 360m.

Duration: From 26 May 2026 for approx. 21 days (Ref: TTROC/18222)

No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 18 May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
