Kendal Road, Staveley - Temporary Road Closure due to Level Crossing Inspection Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(KENDAL ROAD, STAVELEY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable level crossing inspection to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the Kendal Road, Staveley, from a point approx. 85 metres north west of its junction with the A591, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 125 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Kendal Road (C5108), Main Street, Abbey Square, Windermere Road, Danes Road and the A591.

The Order will come into operation on 30th May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 night, during the hours of 22:00 and 10:00 ONLY and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
