What is happening?

Meath Green Lane (D334) Webber Street and Hoadley Road Horley
(Prohibition of Turn and Revocation) Order 2026

On 14 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above named Order, under Sections 1, 2 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to impose the following vehicular restrictions:

(1) prohibit a left or right turn from Meath Green Lane, Horley into Webber Street at its northernmost junction;

(2) prohibit a left or right turn from Webber Street Horley into Meath Green Lane at its northernmost junction;

(3) prohibit a left or right turn from Meath Green Lane, Horley, into Hoadley Road;

(4) prohibit a left or right turn from Hoadley Road, Horley into Meath Green Lane. Such restrictions shall not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; or in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of Surrey Police. The Surrey County Council Meath Green Lane (D334) and Webber Street Horley (Prohibition of Turn and Entry and Revocation) Order 2022 will be amended as a result.

A copy of a plan showing the lengths of road to which the Order relates, which will come into force on 16 May 2026, and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be viewed on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policiesplans-consultations/roads-andtransport- consultations.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks of from the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
