Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures & No Stopping Restrictions Due To Various Works
What is happening?
ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.58) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order:
1. To introduce No Stopping at Any Time (Double red line) restrictions the North kerb of Grange Farm Lane, Chigwell for approximately 102m from its junction with High Road (A113).
2. To introduce No Stopping at Any Time (Double red line) restrictions on both sides of Nazeing Common Road, Nazeing, from its junction with Middle Street for approximately 189m on the South side and 76m on the North side in an Easterly direction.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile numbers TQ440 940 revision 0 with revision 1; TL405 050 revision 0 with revision 1: TL410 050 revision 0 with revision 1.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 1st June 2026.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Mill Lane, High Ongar) - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, High Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 245m in a south easterly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Moor Hall Road, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from its junction with Windmill Fields for a distance of approximately 145m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th June 2026 for 14 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0616584JB – Affinity Water Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Beech Lane, Buckhurst Hill in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with High Road to its junction with Beech Avenue a distance of approximately 130m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (NK1021691826 – Virgin Media Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Grove Lane, Epping in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Hemnall Street to its junction with Palmers Hill a distance of approximately 35m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2026 for 13 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06162847JB – Affinity Water Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of London Road, Stapleford Tawney in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Epping Lane for a distance of approximately 290m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th June 2026 for 8 nights (22:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (FN49329545412 – Highways England Company Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lower Meadow, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from a point approximately 140m south east of its junction with Paringdon Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2373 – Hill Partnerships Ltd).
