What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING ANDUNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-069)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Fackley, Stanton Hill, Sutton in Ashfield and Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Lansbury Road, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

b. Martyn Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

c. Tibshelf Road, Fackley - From its junction with Silverhill Lane for a distance of 550m in a south westerly direction

d. Fackley Road, Stanton Hill - From its junction with High Street, Stanton Hill to its junction with New Lane, Stanton Hill

e. Skegby Road, Sutton in Ashfield - From its junction with Mansfield Road to its junction with Harwood Place

f. Taylor Crescent, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

g. Hampden Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length

h. Sycamore Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road

a. Lansbury Road, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

b. Martyn Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

c. Tibshelf Road, Fackley - From its junction with Silverhill Lane for a distance of 550m in a south westerly direction

d. Fackley Road, Stanton Hill - From its junction with High Street, Stanton Hill to its junction with New Lane, Stanton Hill

e. Skegby Road, Sutton in Ashfield - From its junction with Mansfield Road to its junction with Harwood Place

f. Taylor Crescent, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length

g. Hampden Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length 

h. Sycamore Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00, Thursday 21st May 2026
Until 15:30, Thursday 20th August 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Not Applicable
b. Not Applicable
c. Wild Hill, Mansfield Road, High Street, Alfreton Road, Newton Road, Main Street, Hall Lane, Cragg Lane, Huthwaite Lane, Blackwell Road, Sutton Road, Huthwaite Road, Lammas Road, Priestsic Road, Stoneyford Road, High Street, Fackley Road and vice versa

d. Fackley Road, Mansfield Road, Kings Mill Road East, Mansfield Road, Stoneyford Road, High Street and vice versa

e. B6023 Mansfield Road, A617 Kings Mill Road East, B6014 Mansfield Road, Dalestorth Road, Dalestorth Street & Vice Versa 

f. Not Applicable

g. Victoria Road, Forster Street, Hartley Road and vice versa

h. Copeland Road, Sutton Road, Chapel Street, Greenwood Drive, Banks Avenue and vice versa

The Order will come into force on Thursday 21st May 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out carriageway patching repairs;
