RHODDIR HYSBYSIAD DRWY HYN fod y Cyngor fel yr Awdurdod Priffyrdd ar gyfer Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, wrth arfer ei bwerau dan Adran 14(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu creu Gorchymyn, a hynny heb fod yn llai na 7 diwrnod o ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn, a fydd yn cyflwyno dros dro y cyfyngiadau a nodir yn yr atodlen isod. 

Mae'r Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol am nad yw’r lôn gerbydau yn ddigon llydan i gynnal mynediad i gerbydau wrth ailosod wyneb y briffordd ac er budd diogelwch y cyhoedd. 

Daw'r Gorchymyn i rym ar 20/05/2026 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym am hyd at 18 mis neu nes bydd y gwaith wedi'i gwblhau, p'un bynnag sydd gynharaf. 

Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith arfaethedig yn cael ei wneud rhwng 08:00 a 17:00 ar 31 Mai 2026. 

Atodlen - Nichaiff neb beri i unrhyw gerbyd fynd ar hyd Stryd Nolton, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, o'r gyffordd â'r A473 Heol y Bont-faen i Merthyr Mawr Road, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr. Y llwybr amgen ar gyfer cerbydau yw ar hyd ffordd osgoi fewnol yr A473 tua'r gogledd, cylchfan Ravenscourt yr A4061, ffordd gyswllt Traws-gwm yr A4061 tua'r dwyrain, cylchfan yr A4061, Tremains Road a Brackla Street. 

Bydd mynediad yn cael ei gynnal i Merthyr Mawr Road drwy atal system unffordd ar Stryd Nolton a rheoli traffig drwy fyrddau aros/ewch. 

Bydd mynediad yn cael ei gynnal i Edward Street a Chapel Street trwy atal y system unffordd ar Stryd Nolton a Chwrt yr Ysgol Rad a rheoli traffig drwy fyrddau aros/ewch. 

Bydd mynediad trwy ardal y cyfyngiad i’r Heddlu a’r Gwasanaethau Tân ac Ambiwlans wrth ymateb i argyfyngau. Cynhelir mynediad i gerddwyr at bob eiddo o fewn ardal y cyfyngiad ar hyd llwybrau a ddiffinnir trwy gydol y cyfnod cau. 

Fodd bynnag, bydd y cyfyngiadau’n berthnasol dim ond ar adegau ac i’r graddau a ddangosir o bryd i’w gilydd ar arwyddion traffig a osodir gan Reoliadau a Chyfarwyddiadau Cyffredinol Arwyddion Traffig 2016.

BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(NOLTON STREET, BRIDGEND)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council as the Highway Authority for Bridgend in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make an Order which will temporarily introduce the restriction set out in the schedule below. 

The Order is necessary due to insufficient width of carriageway to maintain vehicular access during carriageway resurfacing works and is in the interest of public safety. 

The Order will come into force on the 20/05/2026 and will continue in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. 

It is anticipated the planned works will be undertaken between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 on 31st May 2026. 

Schedule - No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Nolton Street, Bridgend, from its junction with A473 Cowbridge Road to Merthyr Mawr Road, Bridgend. The alternative route for vehicles is via A473 Inner Bypass Northbound, A4061 Ravenscourt roundabout, A4061 Cross valley link road Eastbound, A4061 Giratory roundabout, Tremains Road and Brackla Street. 

Access will be maintained to Merthyr Mawr Road by suspending one way system on Nolton street and controlling traffic via stop/go boards. 

Access will be maintained to Edward Street and Chapel Street By suspending the one way system on Nolton Street and Freeschool court and controlling traffic via stop/go Boards. 

Access cannot be provided through the restriction for Police, Fire and Ambulance Services responding to emergencies. Pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction will be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure. 

The restrictions shall however only apply at such time and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
