What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC000149920999: The City of Manchester (Deansgate, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic from Atkinson Street to Quay Street. 

The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate electrical works. 

It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 17th May 2026 only. The order shall come into operation on 17th May 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
