(Bognor Regis: Chichester Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Chichester Road in Bognor Regis from Fairlands to Loats Lane.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 1 June 2026 and remain in force until 25 September 2026. During this period works will progress along the affected length of road in phases, with shorter lengths of the road closed at any one time. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Aldwick, Bognor Regis & Felpham: Bognor Prom 10K Run)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close the following roads in Bognor Regis and Felpham throughout their entire length unless otherwise stated:

Silverston Avenue, Kings Parade, Marine Drive West: from Silverston Avenue to Nyewood Lane,
Nyewood Lane: from Kings Parade to Marine Drive West,
High Street: from its junction with Gloucester Road to its junction with Upper Bognor Road,
The Esplanade, Admiralty Road, Blakes Road: from Admiralty Road to Vicarage Lane, Gloucester Road: (northbound carriageway only)
Upper Bognor Road: (eastbound carriageway only), from the B2259 to Sea Road,
Felpham Road: (northbound carriageway only) from Sea Road to Admiralty Road,
Vicarage Lane: (northbound carriageway only) from Blakes Road to Limmer Lane,
Limmer Lane: (eastbound carriageway only) from Vicarage Lane to Summerley Lane.

These road closures are needed to allow the Bognor Prom 10k Run to take place in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 17 May 2026 at 0700hours and remain in force until 1500hours. Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and access to properties on the affected roads will be maintained under control by event marshals.

(Milland: Milland Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Milland Lane between the B2070 and Fernhurst Road.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst surface water drainage works are undertaken. The Order will come into effect on 18 May 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on 18 May 2026 and will be completed by 19 June 2026.

(Boxgrove, Westhampnett Singleton & Lavant Goodwoof Event 2026)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:

(i)   prohibit vehicles from travelling along Pook Lane/Forge Yard Road, between Fordwater Road and Trundle Hill; Lower Road; New Road, between Kennel Hill Road and New Barn Hill; Westerton Lane, at junction with New Road; and

(ii)  to require all vehicles to travel at a speed not exceeding 30MPH on Trundle Hill/Kennel Hill Road from a point 100M south of Knights Hill to a point 100M north of New Road; and

(iii) to require all vehicles to travel at a speed not exceeding 40MPH on Trundle Hill, from Knights Hill southwards for 100M and on Kennel Hill Road, from New Road northwards for 100M. This Order will be operative from 0800hours on 15 May 2026 and is necessary to aid in the management of traffic including pedestrians accessing the Goodwoof event 2026 and the event car parks. The speed limit will be operative from 0800hours on 15 May 2026 until 1700hours on 18 May 2026. The road closures will be in place daily between 0700 and 2359hours on 16 May 2026 and 17 May 2026 but residential access will be maintained.

(Pagham: Nyetimber Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Nyetimber Lane in Pagham, from Grosvenor Gardens to Carlton Avenue.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 18 May 2026 and remain in force until 28 August 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Bersted: Public Footpath 136/1) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State has approved the extension of the above Order made by WSCC under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which temporarily closes Public Footpath 136/1 in Bersted, from its junction with Chalcraft Lane, northwards to its junction with Public Footpath 134.

The continuation of the Order is needed to allow construction of a property development on adjacent land to be completed, and the affected path to be upgraded.

The extended Order will now remain in effect until 16 May 2027, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order, no direct alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way network.

(Bognor Road Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to extend the length of prohibition of waiting at any time (double yellow lines) on the south side of Bognor Road south-east of the junction with York Road by 18.5M.

The Order will come into operation on 18 May 2026.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 14 May 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Yapton: North End Road Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact restrictions prohibiting waiting at any time on various lengths of North End Road in Yapton, between its junction with Pear Tree Close and Yew Tree Nursing Home. This order does not change the current layout of restrictions in North End Road, which were advertised in 2024 and due to an error, subsequently installed without the Order being formally brought into effect.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 18 May 2026, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 14 May 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
