NOTICE is given that on 11 May 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 16 May extends the 20mph speed limit on Station Road north-eastwards by an additional 185 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Launton Parish) (Speed Limits) (No.2) Order 2023 is revoked/replaced.

(VARIOUS ROADS – CHERWELL DISTRICT) (MAP BASED)
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION No.22) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that on 11 May 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 18 May is to help better manage the provision of residential parking in part of Bicester by amending the existing residents permit parking scheme as follows:
1. Church Street:
a) New ‘Resident Permit Holders Only at all times’ parking bays introduced on the south side of Church Street, with approx. 12 spaces provided adjacent to Nos.1–13, and one space adjacent to the ‘old Vicarage’.
b) The previous Single Yellow Lines (No Waiting 8am to 6pm) on the south side of Church Street adjacent to the Church are replaced by new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) with a small section removed outside the ‘Old Vicarage’.
c) Residents of the following properties are able to apply for annual Residents and Visitors’ Parking Permits, and a local identifier of ‘BC’ will be shown on permits and on road signage where restrictions apply:
• Nos.2–4 (even) & Nos.1–13 (odd) Cemetery Road,
• Nos.6–28 (even), Nos.7–13 (odd), Nos.1 & 3 (Church Terrace), & ‘Crick House’, ‘Old Court House’, ‘Old Police House’, ‘Old Vicarage’, ‘Piccolo Amore’, ‘Six Bells’ Church Street, and
• Nos.1–6 Kings End
2. Lambourne Crescent:
a) New ‘Resident Permit Holders Only at all times’ parking restrictions are introduced throughout Lambourne Crescent.
b) The previous Single Yellow Lines (No Waiting 11.00am to Noon; and Noon to 1.00pm) on both sides are removed in their entirety to allow for residents to park, with the existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) remaining in place around the inner kerb of the turning circle.
c) Residents of the following properties are able to apply for annual Residents and Visitors’ Parking Permits, and a local identifier of ‘BC’ will be shown on permits and on road signage where restrictions apply:
• Nos.7–11 Lambourne Road, and
• Nos.1–28 Lambourne Crescent
3. North Street:
a) The existing ‘Permit Holders Only’ parking bay on North Street adjacent to the ‘Public House’ is extended further northwards, adjacent to Nos.65–67. Additionally, new bays introduced on Crumps Butts, with one new bay adjacent to No.34, and three adjacent to Nos.23–25.
b) Two small sections of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) parking restriction are removed to accommodate the proposed new parking bays adjacent to Nos.65–67 North Street, and Nos.23–25 Crumps Butts.
c) Residents of the following properties are able to apply for annual Residents and Visitors’ Parking Permits, and a local identifier of ‘BC’ will be shown on permits and on road signage where restrictions apply:
• Nos.15–25 (odd) Crumps Butts,
• Nos.5–10 Hailles Gardens, and
• Nos.10, 20, 22, 24, 31, 34, 34a, 56 & 58 North Street.
4. Residents permits:
Will be limited to one per resident, with a maximum of two permits per property. A resident may obtain a temporary permit for a replacement vehicle while their permanent vehicle is off the road.
5. Visitors permits:
Will be available for residents at the above eligible addresses, usually a maximum of 50 days’ worth of permits will be issued per year and provided in blocks of 25. A temporary resident will be entitled to 25 visitors permits.
6. Charges:
a) for residents permits per property will be £80 per annum. Visitors permits for residents aged 70 or over will be free of charge. For other residents the first block of 25 visitors permits will be free and the second block will be £31.50.
b) Contractors may apply for a permit to use a residents parking place at a charge of £20 for one day, and £33 for any 2 to 7-day period.
7. Other Matters:
a) A permit may be withdrawn if found to be granted based on false information, or a permit has not been used in accordance with the provisions of the Order, where it has been abused, or where the agreed terms have not been complied with. This may result in suspension of eligibility for further permits.
b) Exemptions to the waiting restrictions and the restrictions on the use of parking places will include the following exemptions: For disabled badge holders (maximum of three hours where there are ‘No Waiting’ restrictions are in force), Carers Permit holders, for loading and unloading, people boarding or alighting a vehicle, emergency services, universal service providers and vehicles being used in connection with road works and works to the utility services, and official funeral vehicles.
c) The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – Cherwell District) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2021 is further amended, updating Map Tiles: CV79, ‘CW79’ & ‘CW80’ in the process.

If you wish to question the validity of this order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of an instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 11 May 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Bicester, Middleton Stoney Road/Kings End/Oxford Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 11 May 2026
Coming into force: 18 May 2026
This Order is being introduced because of highway improvement works at the above roundabout junction. The works include upgrades to the roundabout, a new access to the car park/park and a new pedestrian crossing. To minimise public disruption and maintain traffic flow, the works will be carried out in phases using some temporary traffic lights, with full road closures only required for critical last works, all of which are anticipated to be completed 25 October 2026.
Phase 1–3 – Middleton Stoney Road
Day Closures: from 8am 18 May – 24 hour closure in collaboration with the two-way traffic lights setup on Oxford Rd/Kings End.
Dates: 18 to 25 May 8am to 5pm
Phase 4 – Oxford Road, Middleton Stoney Road and Kings End
Night Closure:
Dates: 28 Sept – 11 October 9pm - 5am.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the sectioned off parts of the approaches to the roundabout as follows:
Phase 1–3 road 2-way traffic signals on Kings End/Oxford Road. 18 May – 25 Oct).
Middleton Stoney Road will be closed eastwards from the roundabout with Oxford Road and Kings End for approximately 100 metres up to Newton Close.
Phase 4
The closure will affect the full 3 road junction. Middleton Stoney Road will be closed westwards from the roundabout for approximately 110 metres up to Newton Close. Oxford Road will be closed southwards from the roundabout for approximately 50 metres. Kings End will be closed northwards from the roundabout for approximately 30 metres. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. The alternative routes will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
