What is happening?

Temporary Orders 
The Cornwall Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) The County of Cornwall (North Road, Goldsithney)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 11th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Goldsithney. 

This prohibition is necessary for frame repair works and it is expected that the closure will be from 26th May 2026 to 27th May 2026. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0800 and 1800, weekdays only.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 11th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Penzance. 

This prohibition is necessary for cabling works and it is expected that the closure will be from 28th May 2026 to 29th May 2026. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1500, weekdays only. Road affected - Taroveor Road, Penzance between the junctions St James Street and Alma Terrace. An alternative route will be signed on site.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 11th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in St Just. 

This prohibition is necessary for drainage works and it is expected that the closure will be from 26th May 2026 to 28th May 2026. The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekdays only. 

Road affected - B3306 Between Road Junction South Of Lands End Airport And Crippas Hill, St Just between the junctions of Access To Kelynack Manor Farm And The Road To Cot Manor and Road From Joppa To Little Kelynack.

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 11th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Goldsithney. 

This prohibition is necessary for ducting works and it is expected that the closure will be from 26th May 2026 to 29th May 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0800 and 1800, weekdays only.

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 11th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Hayle. 

This prohibition is necessary for tree works and it is expected that the closure will be from 27th May 2026, for one day. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0730 and 1800, weekdays only. Road affected - Water Lane, Hayle between the junction of Trelissick and Chenhalls Road.

This prohibition is necessary for poling works and it is expected that the closure will be from 26th May 2026, for one day. 

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0930 and 1530, weekdays only. Road affected - Bread Street, Penzance between the junction of Wood Street and Alma Terrace. An alternative route will be signed on site.

The County of Cornwall (Higher Stennack, St Ives) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in St Ives. 

This prohibition is necessary for defect repair works and it is expected that the closure will be from 9th June 2026 to 11th June 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1830 and 0700, weekdays only. 

Road affected - Higher Stennack, St Ives between grid references SW5124440226 and SW5128540255. An alternative route will be signed on site.

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 

Temporary Speed Restriction Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 9th February 2026 continuing to impose a temporary speed restriction of 30 MPH over an area of highway being Eastern Green, Penzance between grid references SW4874231206 and SW4846131159 for approximately 250 metres.

 The Council is satisfied that this further restriction if necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to take down existing wall, footway improvements, ducting installation, construction of retaining wall and installation of gabian baskets. 

The Order which commenced on the 25th February 2026 and is currently in force for up to eighteen months will now continue until the 3rd July 2026.
