Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Variation No.28) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include parking restrictions and the introduction of parking charges on the road known as Marine Parade which runs from its junction with Beach Road at Royal Sands to its junction with Beach Road at the northern end of Beach Lawns. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedules to this notice. Should you wish to make any observation on this proposal (whether you support or object to the proposal) you should make them in writing to David Bailey, Lead Engineer, Environment Assets & Transport Services Directorate, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ or email: traffic.orders@n-somerset.gov.uk quoting reference PSWLP/DB/2616 by 5pm on 5 June 2026. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. All representations received may be considered in public by the council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

Schedule 1 - Parking restrictions Marine Parade, no waiting at any time, no loading at any time, disabled parking bays, loading bays, bus bays, paid bays, permit bays, motorcycle bays along the length of the road Plans 1 to 4. All paid bay on street parking places shall be affected by the charges. Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare charges apply between 8am and 6pm, peak season: 2 hours £3.50, 4 hours £7, all day £12, low season: 2 hours £1.50, 4 hours £2.70, all day £4.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Beach Road, Kewstoke, Weston-super-Mare North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 3 June 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of surface dressing patching and will become operative on 3 June 2026, anticipated to be of 3 days. Work will take place between 8am and 5pm. The works will be carried out in phases as set out in the Schedule, with each phase anticipated to be undertaken on a separate day. Each phase will be completed before the next phase commences, and only one section will be closed at any one time. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule - Phase one: Beach Road from the National Trust Sand Point Car Park to the junction of Sand Lane. Phase two: Beach Road from the junction of Sand Lane to the junction of Crookes Lane. Phase three: Beach Road from the junction of Crookes Lane to the junction of Kewstoke Road.

Alternative routes - Phase one: no alternative route. Phase two: Beach Road (part unaffected), Crookes Lane, Lower Norton Lane, Sand Road and vice-versa. Phase three: Beach Road (part unaffected), Kewstoke Road, Crookes Lane and vice-versa.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Beach Road, Marine Parade, Uphill Road North (A370), Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Temporary No Waiting and Loading Restriction Order 2026

Date coming into force: 5 June 2026

Ref: SW26.27-027

Will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, event organiser access, NSC Enforcement Vehicles, Residential access only for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public and in the interests of safety and as a means of segregating traffic from pedestrians during the event Summerfest being staged at Weston-super-Mare Beach and Marine Parade. It is anticipated that the following restrictions will be in effect on the dates and times shown in the schedule below and when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs and cones. It will become operative on the 5 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the event which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Road closures effective 8pm to 11.59pm on 5, 6, 7 June 2026:

Beach Road junction with Quantock Road to Clarence Park Road South, Marine Parade junction with Beach Road to the junction of Oxford Street, Beach Road junction with Oxford Street to the junction of Carlton Street. No waiting at any time and No loading at any time effective from 12am Friday 5 June 2026 to 11.59pm Sunday 7 June 2026: Beach Road from Clarence Road South to the junction of Quantock Road on east and west side Uphill Road North (A370) on east and west side for its full extent.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 13 July 2026

Ref: SW26.27-045

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Taylor Plant Ltd for the Installation of storm drainage and manhole. This order will become operative on the 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 12 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 6 July 2026

Ref: SW26.27-048

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to Replace old metallic gas mains with new plastic. This order will become operative on the 6 July 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 26 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water for a lead replacement. This order will become operative on the 14 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists Order 2026

Date coming into force: 8 June 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of infrastructure improvements and will become operative on 8 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the closure will be for a period of approximately 22 weeks.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 26 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water Services Limited to repair apparatus. This order will become operative on the 26 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for core drilling. This order will become operative on the 27 May 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water Services Limited to repair frame and cover. This order will become operative on the 29 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9.30am and 2pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 26 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
