Ilchester Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Repair Works

Somerset Council Parish of The Charltons Temporary Closure of Ilchester Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Ilchester Road - from the junction with Station Road, south-eastwards for a total distance of 160 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to repair a leaking stop tap.

The Order becomes effective on 14th May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 18th May 2026 and last until 22nd May 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days. a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
