THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(SUTHERLAND AVENUE) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the
Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting
vehicles from proceeding on Sutherland Avenue from its
junction with Bilston Road to its junction with Cooper Street.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken from 25 May 2026 until 3 June 2026, between
the hours of 20:00 and 04:30 each day.
The diversion routes are: Inbound Vehicular Diversion
Route: Bilston Road, Ring Road, Middle Cross,
Horseley Fields, Lower Horseley Fields, Willenhall Road
and Hickman Avenue. Outbound Vehicular Diversion
Route: Bilston Road, Stowheath Lane, Culwick Street and
Hickman Avenue.
The Order is required to facilitate asphalt repair works by
Midland Metro Alliance.
