What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC QUAY ROAD
LEVEL CROSSING, BRIDLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Quay Road Level Crossing, Bridlington 20 meters
either side of the level crossing from its junction with
Station Approach heading west to Moorfield Road
junction commencing 7 June 2026 at 00.01 hours
until 05.30 hours to allow for uplift for rail inspections.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within six hours. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via Hilderthorpe
Road, Station Road, Station Avenue, Quay Road and
Springfield Avenue, Bridlington CP, Bridlington South
Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
