(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Cockerham Road, Cockerham, Forton from its junction with B5272 Main Street, Cockerham to its junction with A6 Lancaster Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0600 hours on Tuesday 12th May 2026 until 1800 hours on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Section 1 - Main Diversion: Cockerham Road - A6 Preston Lancaster Road - Ratcliffe Wharf Lane - B5272 Garstang Road - Cockerham Road and vice versa.
Section 2 - Main Diversion: Cockerham Road - A6 Preston Lancaster Rd - Ratcliffe Wharf Lane - B5272 Garstang Road > Cockerham Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway surface dressing works to be carried out.
