What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH 

INTRODUCTION AND REMOVAL OF DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACES IN VARIOUS ROADS 

(This notice is about proposals to remove certain disabled persons’ parking places where they are no longer required and designate new disabled persons’ parking places where they are required. In controlled parking certain circumstances, this may involve the redesignation of a new parking space where a disabled persons’ parking place is removed; or the removal of an existing parking space to accommodate the proposed disabled persons’ parking place.) 

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, intends to make The Lambeth (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. **) Order 202* and The Lambeth (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No. **) Order 202* under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.  

2. The general effect of the Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions Order would be to:- 

(a) revoke disabled persons’ parking places in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; 

(b) revoke free parking places in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice; 

(c) designate disabled persons’ parking places in the lengths of streets specified Schedule 3 to this Notice.

(d) specify the parking places specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice will operate at any time and be for the use of vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “blue badge” only; 

3. The general effect of the Charged-For Parking Places Order would be to:-

(a) revoke Resident Permit parking places in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice; 

(b) revoke Shared Use parking places in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 5 to this Notice; 

(c) designate Shared Use parking places in the lengths of streets specified Schedule 6 to this Notice; 

(d) designate Resident Permit parking places in Beechdale Road, adjacent No. 18. 

4. In some cases, the disabled persons’ parking places specified in Schedules 1 and 3 to this notice may already have been removed or provided informally. Where this is the case, the effect of the Orders will be to formalise that situation so as to reflect the parking controls that currently apply on the ground and enable enforcement to be carried out if necessary. 

5. The Orders are necessary to remove certain disabled persons’ parking places where they are no longer required and to provide new disabled persons’ parking places so as to improve parking facilities for disabled persons where they are needed.

and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays, except on bank or public holidays. To arrange inspection please email trafficorders@lambeth.gov.uk   

8. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made (quoting reference “172 – Disabled Persons Parking Places – Batch 10”), and can be made using our consultation portal at https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth  or sent by post to Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), London Borough of Lambeth, PO Box 80771, London, SW2 9QQ  or by email TMOReps@lambeth.gov.uk within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. Any objection may be communicated to, or seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter. 

9. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them are available for inspection online at: https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or www.lambeth.gov.uk/traffic-management-orders  and at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders.
