What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.

CASTLE VIEW ROAD, EASTHORPE

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 15/06/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 5 days to allow Qualitas Energy to carry out S278 carriageway surfacing work. The diversions will be via: Castle View Rd, Easthorpe, A52, Belvoir Rd, Bottesford & vice versa.

TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 18/06/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 3 months to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway surface repairs. The diversion routes will be signed on site. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/06/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 4 days to allow MJ Quinn on behalf of BT Openreach to undertake apparatus maintenance & cable installation work. The proposed diversion route will be via:  Holwell Ln, Scalford; Scalford

Rd, Nottingham Rd (A606), Melton Mowbray; Nottingham Rd (A606), Nursery Ln, Main St, Holwell Ln, Ab Kettleby & vice versa.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 28/05/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 5 days to allow MJ Quinn on behalf of BT Openreach to carry out ducting installations in the highway. The proposed diversion route will be via: Tamar Rd, Winster Cres & vice versa.

The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 10 days to allow BT Openreach to undertake apparatus installation & ducting works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

Thorpe Satchville Rd, Kirby Bellars for 150m approx. from the Ashby Folville Rd Jct.

MELTON ROAD, LONG CLAWSON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC 

TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 25/05/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 3 months to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake water mains replacement works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Clawson Rd, Holwell; Waltham Ln, East Ln, Back Ln, Sand Pit Ln, West Ln, Melton Rd, Long Clawson & vice versa. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The proposed diversion route will be via: Burton Rd, Victoria St, Craven St & vice versa.

The proposed diversion route will be via: Norman Wy, Thorpe End, Sherrard St, Market Pl, Leicester St, Wilton Rd – one way only.

The Order will come into force on 22/05/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 20 days to allow National Grid to undertake multiple utility connections. The proposed diversion route will be via: Main St, The Drift Rd, Wymondham; Fosse Ln, Edmondthorpe; Fosse Ln, Thistleton; Thistleton Rd, Teigh Rd, Market Overton; Market Overton Rd, Edmondthorpe Rd, Teigh; Teigh Rd, Edmondthorpe; Edmondthorpe Rd, Wymondham & vice versa.
