The Oldham Borough Council on 13th May 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to
Cathedral Road Chadderton Area
Introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the full lengths of Cathedral Road, Tavistock Drive, Winchester Avenue, Chichester Crescent, Wimborne Avenue, Service road from Chichester Crescent to rear of 1 - 23 Kidderminster Way, Kirklee Avenue, Service road from Chichester Crescent to rear of 1 - 27 Winchester Avenue, Coventry Grove, Tewkesbury Avenue, Taunton Road, Lichfield Drive, Norwich Avenue, Wells Avenue, Truro Road, Parkway, Parkfield, Parkgate, Park Avenue, Park View, Park Close, Clevedon Road and Burnley Lane from its terminus, south east of its junction with Parkgate, for a distance of 125 metres in a northwesterly direction.
Prohibit waiting at all times on Parkway east side 44 metres south of Burnley Lane for 33 metres in a general southerly direction, Parkway west side 45 metres south of Burnley Lane for 40 metres in a general southerly direction, Coventry Grove both sides from Cathedral Road for 10 metres north westerly, Tavistock Drive both sides from Cathedral Road for 10 metres south easterly, Chadderton Park Road east side 30 metres north of Cathedral Road to 13 metres south of Cathedral Road, Cathedral Road north east side from Parkway for 32 metres north westerly, Cathedral Road south west side from Parkway for 26 metres north westerly, Cathedral Road north west side from 10 metres north east of Coventry Grove to metres south west of Coventry Grove, Cathedral Road south west side from metres north west of Tavistock Drive to 10 metres south east of Tavistock Drive, Cathedral Road north side from a point opposite the south easterly kerb-line of Tavistock Drive for 28 metres general easterly, Cathedral Road north east side from 21 metres north west of a point opposite the north westerly kerb-line of Tavistock Drive for 10 metres north westerly, Cathedral Road south side from Chadderton Park Road for 48 metres general easterly, Cathedral Road north side from Chadderton Park Road for 57 metres in a general easterly direction including the section of adopted highway providing access to the rear of 90 to 100 Cathedral Road.
Introduce Limited Waiting on the north east side of Cathedral Road within the dedicated parking bay 31 metres north west of a point opposite the north westerly kerb-line of Tavistock Drive for a distance of 47 metres in a north westerly direction on Monday to Saturday 8am-6pm where a vehicle can wait for 2 hours maximum with the minimum of 1 hour to elapse before that vehicle can return.
Wellington Road Greenfield - prohibit waiting at all times on the south east side of Wellington Road 83 metres north east of Chew Valley Road for 27 metres north easterly.
Denshaw Area Road Delph - to extend the 'at any time' waiting restrictions on both sides of Denshaw Road from High Street for 17 metres north westerly to from High Street to Lodge Lane and introduce new 'at any time' waiting restrictions on Lodge Lane west side from Denshaw Road for 35 metres northerly and on the east side from Denshaw Road for 10 metres northerly and on the south west side from Friarmere Road for 15 metres south easterly and on Friarmere Road south east side from Lodge Lane for 10 metres south westerly
Partington Street Area Failsworth - impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the full lengths of Partington Street, School Road, Simister Road, Wagstaff Drive, Orchard Road, Totton Road, Silverbirch Way, Saint Johns Gardens, Kershaw Road, Timson Street, Tatchbury Road, James Street, Windsor Street, Cormallen Grove, Laycock Crescent from School Road to Brierley Avenue and Brierley Avenue from Lord Lane to a point 70 metres east of its junction with Paulden Avenue.to prohibit waiting at all times on Partington Street, south west side 10 metres north west of School Road to point 10 metres south east of School Road & on the south west side 10 metres north west of Wagstaff Drive to metres south east of Wagstaff Drive & south west side from 10 metres north west of the service road access opposite 9 Partington Street to 10 metres south east of the service road access opposite 9 Partington Street & south west side from 10 metres north west of the service road access opposite 1 Partington Street to 10 metres south east of the service road access opposite 1 Partington Street & north east side 10 metres north west of Totton Road to 10 metres south east of Totton Road & Totton Road both sides from Partington Street for 10 metres north easterly & Wagstaff Drive both sides from Partington Street for 10 metres south westerly & School Road both sides from Partington Street for 10 metres south westerly
Butterworth Lane Chadderton Area - impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the full lengths of Butterworth Lane, Meadway, Chesney Avenue, Crescent Road, Thorley Close & Halsey Close.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date hereof apply to the High Court for the purpose.
