DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE STAFFORD BOROUGH
Staffordshire County Council (Public Footpath South Side of Stafford to Eccleshall Road, Walton to Parish Boundary to the east-north east of Cocktails Gorse and from Parish Boundary to the east-north east of Cocktails Gorse to North side of Great Bridgeford to Woodeaves Road) Modification Order 2026 and Staffordshire County Council (Public Footpath from Marston Lane to Public Bridleway 8, Hopton and Marston Parish) Modification Order 2026
The above Orders made on 27th January 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a length of public footpath:
In Eccleshall and Seighford Parishes commencing at point A on the map (NGR 386053-327822), the south side of Stafford Road, Walton, and running in a generally southerley direction for approximately 817 metres to point B on the map (NGR 386081-327001). Then recommencing at point C on the map approximately 200 metres to the south-south west (NGR 386037-326793) and running in a generally east-north easterly direction for approximately 90 metres, then in a generally easterley direction for approximately 80 metres then in a generally east-south easterley direction for approximately 170 metres, then running in a generally easterly direction for approximately 88 metres, then in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 400 meters to point D on the map (the parish boundary NGR 386742-326496) then in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 310 meters to point E on the map, its terminus at the north side of Woodseaves Road (NGR 386969-326276). And:
In Marston Parish commencing at point A on the map (NGR 392012-326819) on the east side of Marston Lane approximately 97 metres east of Marstongate Farm House, and running in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 690 metres then in a generally east-north easterly direction for approximately 146 metres, to its terminus at point B on the map (NGR 392624-327368) its junction with Bridleway no.8 Marston Parish approximately 192 metres due south of Marston Lane.
A copy of the Orders, the Order Maps and explanatory statements may be seen free of charge at the offices of Stafford Borough Council, Civic Centre Riverside Stafford ST16 3AQ and at Staffordshire County Council Reception, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP during normal working hours, Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the Order and the Map may be purchased.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Legal Services Unit, Staffordshire County Council, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP or by emailing legalrowallocations@staffordshire.gov.uk not later than 1st July 2026 quoting Ref No CG/LJ603G/LJ607G and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. Any representation or objection may be made available to interested parties to view at the Council’s offices on request.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the respective Orders, or if any so made are withdrawn, Staffordshire County Council instead of submitting the Orders to the Secretary of State, may confirm the Orders. If the Orders are submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn, will be sent with it.
