What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Warwickshire County Council has made the following Temporary Traffic Orders:
WHEAT STREET, NUNEATON
Order Effect: Wheat Street, Nuneaton closed to vehicular traffic between Bridge Street and Justice Walk. In addition, the one-way traffic flow on Justice Walk and Bond Gate, Nuneaton will be temporarily suspended.
Reason for Order: To enable essential works in the carriageway.
Order Commences: 19 May 2026 for up to 18 months.
Anticipated Completion: 22 May 2026.
Access & Diversion: Church Street, Vicarage Street, Leicester Road.
Contractor: Core Highways, Tel: 0330 016 9688.
WOODLANDS ROAD, BEDWORTH
Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.
Reason for Order: Carriageway verge works for bell mouth construction.
Order Commences: 30 March 2026 for up to 18 months Unfortunately, these works have been delayed but are now rescheduled as follows: 26 May 2026-5 June 2026
Access & Diversion: Woodlands Lane, Bedworth Lane, Astley Lane, Smorrall Lane, Heath Road, Newtown Road, Woodlands Road and vice versa.

For all of the above temporary orders, pedestrian access to and egress from properties and land situated adjacent to the length of road to be closed will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained where possible.

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 90A
PROPOSED ROAD HUMPS
Warwickshire County Council proposes to install:
– Road Humps (six sets of speed cushions) pursuant to Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, on Smarts Road, Bedworth, at the locations described in schedule 1 below; and
– a Road Hump (one raised table junction) pursuant to Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, at the junction of Smarts Road and Alice Close, Bedworth, as described in schedule 2 below.
A copy of the plan showing the proposed locations of the Road Humps and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to install the Road Humps, may be inspected at Shire Hall, Market Place, Warwick, during usual opening hours and on the Council’s
