LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - The Lewisham (The Den, Millwall FC) - (Temporary Anti-Terrorism Traffic Regulation) Order 2026 Ref: ATTR0-002

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that following advice from Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism, Lewisham Council intend to make the above named temporary traffic order under the provisions of section 22(c) and 22(d) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effects of the Order shall be as indicated below.

1. No person shall (a) proceed, or cause any vehicle to enter or proceed, in the streets specified in Schedule 1; (b) cause any vehicle to wait (including waiting for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) in the streets specified in Schedule 1. (Note: Prohibitions and restrictions specified may come into force up to 3 hours prior to that event starting and for up to an hour after its conclusion, although these durations are subject to change.)

2. All parking, loading, disabled & motorcycle bays shall be suspended on all streets specified in Schedule 1.

3. No person shall (a) hinder, interfere with the event, or trespass into the streets specified in Schedule 1, so as to interrupt the event; (b) enter the streets specified in Schedule 1 so as to cause a nuisance or disorder of any kind.

4. Police vehicles may be used to highlight closures at key locations.

5. Exemption shall be provided in the order for any person/vehicle (a) engaged on the event; (b) being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes; and (c) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

6. Additional streets may also be closed at the direction of a police constable in uniform or person authorised by the London Borough of Lewisham to facilitate alternative routes.

7. The Order shall (a) enable a police constable to direct that any provision of the Order shall be commenced, suspended, or revived, to such extent as the constable may specify; (b) confer a discretion on a police constable; (c) confer a power on a police constable to place structures or signs relating to the order; (d) enable a police constable to authorise Millwall Football Club, or a suitably qualified traffic management company appointed by Millwall Football Club, to undertake actions in (a) above.

8. The Order shall come into force on 1st June 2026 and remain in force for 18 months or until it is superseded by a permanent Order, whichever is the sooner.
