What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) 

(LOWER ROAD) (TEMPORARY WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) 

1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to continue the operation of ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions, it intends to make an order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit parking, loading and waiting as details in section 2 of this order.

2. The effect of this order is as follows:

a) In Lower Road:

• on its SW side between a point 10m NW of its junction with Culling Road and the boundary wall of 140 and 142 Lower Road (opposite Tawny Way)

• on its SW side between the boundary wall of 192 and 194 Lower Road and the centre of 202 Lower Road (either side of Rotherhithe New Road junction)

• on its NE side between the SE side of its junction with Neptune Street and the NW side of its junction with China Hall Mews

• on its NE side between a point opposite the rear of the NW footway on Hawkstone Road and the NW side of its junction with Croft Street.
convert all existing timed waiting restrictions (single yellow lines) and ‘at any time’ loading restrictions to ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions. 

b) ‘At any time’ waiting and loading restrictions implemented o/s No. 253 Lower Road to accommodate the removal of an existing bus stop.

c) suspension of pay parking in Lower Road south west side (i) 20.5m o/s Nos. 172 to 178 Lower Road

d)Suspension of pay parking in Lower Road, 5.5m o/s No. 202 Lower Road.

3. This order under section 14(1) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 will be in place from the 29th of May for up to 6 months, until the 28th of November 2026.
