What is happening?
BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
(WARDLE ROAD, WARDLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME ORDER) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made an Order, the effect of which is to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Wardle Road from its junction with Lawflat for a distance of 48 metres in a southerly direction.
(ii) Temporary prohibit vehicles from waiting at anytime along Wardle Road from its junction with Lawflat for a distance of 48 metres in a southerly direction.
The Order is required to facilitate the safe installation of a new water connection within the carriageway and footway and disconnect the old lead supply.
The Order will be operative from 08:00 on the 17th May 2026 until 23:59 on the 17th May 2026.
The alternative route for vehicles will be via Ramsden Road, Birch Road, Halifax Road, Wardle Road & vice versa.
(SMITHY BRIDGE ROAD, LITTLEBOROUGH (4))
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Smithy Bridge Road from a point 15 metres north west of the level crossing for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction.
The Order is required to facilitate the safe annual testing of the Railway Level Crossing.
The Order will be operative from 00:10 on the 31st May 2026 until 05:30 on the 31st May 2026.
The alternative route for vehicles will be via Smithy Bridge Road, Milnrow Road (Littleborough), Wildhouse Lane, Kiln Lane, Bridge Street, Rochdale Road, Milnrow Road (Rochdale), Albert Royds Street, Halifax Road (A58), Smithy Bridge Road & vice versa.
(A58 MANCHESTER ROAD, BOLTON ROAD, SILK STREET, ROCHDALE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES UNDERTAKING A RIGHT TURN MANOUVRE)
(TEMPORARY INTRODUCE ONE-WAY WORKING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to Temporarily prohibit right turn manouvres and/or introduce a one-way working along:
(i) Bolton Road – Prohibit vehicles undertaking a right turn manouvre onto Silk Street.
(ii) Bolton Road – Prohibit vehicles undertaking a right turn manouvre onto Manchester Road (Southbound).
(iii) Manchester Road – Prohibit vehicles undertaking a right turn manouvre onto Silk Street.
(iv) Silk Street – Introducing a one-way working by prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along Silk Street in a Westerly direction, in so far as vehicles travelling in an Easterly direction will not be affected.
The Order is required to facilitate the safe construction of the Bee Network Cycle-way scheme within the carriageway.
The Order will be operative from 00:00 on the 23rd May 2026 until 23:59 on the 15th October 2026.
The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on site as and when required.
(MANCHESTER ROAD – OLD SECTION, ROCHDALE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES UNDERTAKING A LEFT TURN MANOUVRE)
(TEMPORARY ONE-WAY WORKING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to Temporarily prohibit right turn manouvres and/or introduce a one-way working along:
(i) Law Street – Prohibit vehicles undertaking a left turn manouvre onto Manchester Road – Old Section.
(ii) Manchester Road – Old Section Introducing a one-way working by prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along Manchester Road – Old Section from its junction with Law Street in a north easterly direction for a distance of 140 metres, in so far as vehicles will only be permitted to travel along Manchester Road – Old Section in an South Westerly direction from its junction with Roch Valley Way.
The Order is required to facilitate the safe construction of the Bee Network Cycle-way scheme within the carriageway.
The Order will be operative from 00:00 on the 22nd May 2026 until 23:59 on the 4th March 2027.
The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on site as and when required.
