What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Footpath 20, Brentwood)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 20. in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Crow Green Lane to its junction with Beads Hall Lane (Byway 4) for approximately 700 metres.

Diversion will be via: Crow Green Lane, Hatch Road, Beads Hall Lane and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 25 May 2026 to 26 June 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public, while ditch and path reinstatement works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 25 May 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Docklands Avenue, Ingatestone)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Docklands Avenue, Ingatestone in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th May 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30065160273 – UK Power Networks). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Pine Close, Park Drive, High Street and vice versa (with access only into Docklands Avenue). The Order came into effect on 6th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Middleton Hall Lane, Brentwood)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Middleton Hall Lane, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 120m north east of its junction with Ingrave Road for approximately 135m in a north easterly then northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th May 2026 for 2 nights (20:00-05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP40090993481 – Rose Builders Ltd). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while junction upgrade works are undertaken by Rose Builders Ltd. 

An alternative route is available via Middleton Hall Lane, Ingrave Road, Shenfield Road, Middleton Hall Road and vice versa. 

The Order came into effect on 6th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mountnessing – Ingatestone Link Road, Ingatestone)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mountnessing – Ingatestone Link Road, Ingatestone in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Trueloves Lane to its junction with Heybridge Link a distance of approximately 355m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th May 2026 for 5 nights (21:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (FN40660674991 – Highways England Co Ltd). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge repair works are undertaken by Highways England Co Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Mountnessing – Ingatestone Link Road, B1002, Wantz Road, A12, B1002 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 6th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Road, Mountnessing)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Mountnessing in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Marsh Lane to its junction with Burnthouse Lane a distance of approximately 195m. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th June 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30066555470 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Marsh Lane, Old Church Road, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
