What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, NANPANTAN, LOUGHBOROUGH, BOROUGH OF CHARNWOOD)
(IMPOSITION OF 40 AND 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council has made an Order under Sections 5, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

To impose a 40mph speed limit on parts of Nanpantan Road, Snells Nook Lane and Woodhouse Lane, Nanpantan, Loughborough

To impose a 50mph speed limit on part of Nanpantan Road, Nanpantan, Loughborough

The Order will come into force on the eighteenth day of May 2026.

A copy of the Order and the relevant map is available for public inspection at County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
