What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF OLD GREEN LANE, WILBERFOSS

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part
of Old Green Lane, Wilberfoss. The reason for the
closure is to enable the proposed part of Old Green
Lane, Wilberfoss works for installation of ducting and
chambers for the new fibre network, to be carried out
and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works
will be completed within five days. The alternative
route for traffic affected by the Order is via Bolton
Lane, Newbridge Lane, Ling Lane, Storking Lane, Main
Street and A1079 Hull Road, Catton CP, Wilberfoss
CP, Fangfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds
Weighton Ward. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for residents,
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 1 June 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or
until the works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
