VESTING ORDER

ULSTER CANAL RESTORATION PROJECT
PHASE 3.1 & 3.2 WATTLEBRIDGE TO
GORTNACARROW

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Waterways Ireland (“the Body”) in pursuance of the
provisions of the above Acts and Order has applied to the Department for Infrastructure (“the
Department”) for an Order vesting certain lands in the townlands of Annaghmore Glebe and
Gortnacarrow, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh described in the Schedule in the Body in
accordance with and subject to the provisions of the above Acts and Order.
The Body desires to acquire the said lands, otherwise than by agreement for the purpose of
the restoration of The Ulster Canal Phases 3.1 & 3.2 which runs from Wattlebridge to
Gortnacarrow, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh. A copy of the application and a map of the
lands proposed to be acquired may be inspected, by appointment, during offi ce opening hours
at the offi ces of Waterways Ireland, 2 Sligo Road, Enniskillen, BT74 7JY or by prior appointment
only at Department for Infrastructure, James House, Gas Works Business Park, 2-4 Cromac
Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA. An electronic copy may also be viewed online at Waterways Ireland

Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed vesting order being made must write to the
Ulster Canal Project Lead, Waterways Ireland, 2 Sligo Road, Enniskillen, BT74 7JY or e-mail

ulstercanal@waterwaysireland.org

or write to the Department for Infrastructure, James House,
Gas Works Business Park, 2 - 4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA on or before the 18th day
of June 2026, giving their reasons.

PARKING PLACES – DISABLED
PERSONS’ VEHICLES

The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking Places
(Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026”, (S.R. 2026
No. 82) which comes into operation on 20th May 2026.
The Rule will create parking places with unlimited waiting in Derry/Londonderry, Holywood,
Newtownards and Portaferry. All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offi ces during offi ce hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m.
to 5.00 p.m.) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged by telephoning 0300 200
7899. The Rule may also be viewed online at

SPEED LIMITS

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Roads (Speed
Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026” (S.R. 2026 No. 84), which comes into operation on 20th
May 2026. The Rule will-
• apply a 30 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Rossinver Road, Garrison and
lengths of Benone Avenue, Limavady;
• apply a 40 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Clabby Road, Clabby,
Sligo Road, Letterbreen, Enniskillen, lengths of Benone Avenue, Limavady, a length
of Ballinlea Road, Mosside and a length of Tempo Road, Tempo;
• extend the length of an existing 40 miles per hour speed limit on a length of Cromore
Road, Coleraine; and
• revoke a number of other speed limits relating to Clabby Road, Clabby, Cromore Road,
Coleraine, Sligo Road, Letterbreen, Enniskillen, Benone Avenue, Limavady, and
Doon Road, Tempo.
Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
