PUBLIC NOTICE:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A3220 GLA ROAD (WEST CROSS ROUTE, LONDON BOROUGH OF HAMMERSMITH AND THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON & CHELSEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1.    Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2.    The purpose of the Order is to enable barrier works to take place on the A3220 GLA Road – West Cross Route in the London Borough of Hammersmith and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

3.    The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1)     entering or proceeding in a northerly direction on the A3220 West Cross Route between its junctions with the A3220 northbound off-slip road connecting West Cross Route northbound carriageway and the unnamed access road to Westfield Shopping Centre and Westway Roundabout;

(2)     entering or proceeding in a southerly direction on the A3220 West Cross Route between its junctions with Westway Roundabout and the A3220 southbound on-slip road connecting the unnamed access road to Westfield Shopping Centre to West Cross Route southbound carriageway;

(3)     entering or proceeding on the A3220 northbound on-slip road connecting the unnamed access road to Westfield Shopping Centre to West Cross Route northbound carriageway.

Works will be phased as such that not all restrictions may apply at any one time.

The Order will be effective between the dates of 1st June 2026 and 1st December 2026 every night 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4.    The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

(1)     any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2)     anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5.    At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs. Northbound via Shepherd’s Bush Green and Wood Lane to normal route of travel. Southbound via Westway Roundabout, link road connecting Westway Roundabout and Wood Lane, Wood Lane and Uxbridge Road to normal route of travel.
