What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 23

PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - WEST DENTON WAY

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police gives notice of its intention to establish a pedestrian crossing at the following location -

Puffin Crossing
West Denton Way

2. The proposed pedestrian crossing is necessary to improve road safety and provide better crossing facilities for pedestrians.

3. If you wish to view the documents relating to the pedestrian crossing (including the Notice, a plan showing the proposed location of the pedestrian crossing, the new map tile (BD38 Rev 0), together with a copy of the statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to install the pedestrian crossing), please email a request to traffic.consultation@newcastle.gov.uk Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents.

4. Any comments regarding the proposed pedestrian crossing should be sent in writing by 4th June 2026 quoting reference TROST21 to Newcastle Parking Services, P.O. Box 2BL, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 2BL or by email to traffic.notices@newcastle.gov.uk
