THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (DIDSBURY ROAD, HEATONS SOUTH AND VARIOUS ROADS) (TEMPORARY 10MPH SPEED LIMIT) (TEMPORARY 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) (SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY SYSTEM) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary 10mph Speed Limit at Didsbury Road, Heatons South - Meltham Road to Boundary. Stockport Road, Marple North - Hill Top Drive to Weatherley Drive. Lower Bents Lane, Bredbury - Hill Top Drive to Weatherley Drive, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. Temporary 20mph Speed Limit at A555 Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road, Hazel Grove - between Buxton New Road and Macclesfield Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. Suspension of a One- Way System at West Street, Edgeley - from Brinksway to Wood Street. Brinksway - from Wood Street to West Street. Chestergate - West Street to King Street West, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads.
This Order is necessary to allow for planned road repair works to take place. It is estimated these works will last up to 9 weeks. This Order is to come into operation on 22 May 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
