What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (TAVISTOCK Road) 2026

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they have made a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Tavistock Road, to be closed at the junction of St Luke’s Road to outside 44 Tavistock Road.

The Road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Monday 18th May 2026 until 18.00hrs on Friday 22nd May 2026, with backup dates of Tuesday 26th May 2026 until Saturday 30th May 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Diverted through traffic may use Tavistock Road, Tavistock Crescent St Luke’s Road, Or St Luke’s Road, Lancaster Road, All Saints Road, Tavistock Road, in either direction.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
