What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (KING’S ROAD) 2026

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Ashburnham Road prohibited left hand turn into King’s Road.

The turn is to be suspended to vehicles for utility works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Saturday 23rd May 2026 until 18.00hrs on Sunday 31st May 2026, with backup dates of Saturday 6th June 2026 until Sunday 14th June 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

• Diverted through Cars and light vehicles traffic may use Ashburnham Road, Gunter Grove, Fulham Road, Harwood Road, New King’s Road, King’s Road.

• Diverted through HGV and PSV vehicle traffic may use Ashburnham Road, Gunter Grove, Finborough Road, Warwick Road, A4 West Cromwell Road, North End Road, Lillie Road, North End Road, Fulham Road, Harwood Road, New King’s Road, King’s Road.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
