What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FLETCHER STREET, STOCKPORT) (SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY SYSTEM) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Suspension of a One-Way System at Fletcher Street, Stockport, from the car park entrance for approximately 90 metres in a north easterly direction, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow apartment development works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 77 weeks. No diversion will be provided. This Order will come into operation on 16 May 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
