What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2431 STANLEY AVENUE, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2431 Stanley Avenue, Ipswich from 120 metres south of Derby Road for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a water stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Derby Road, Pearce Road, Orwell Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 12/05/2026 - 13/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE A131 GAINSBOROUGH ROAD, UB701 CROFT ROAD AND A131 GREGORY STREET, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
● A131 Gainsborough Road, Sudbury from 10 metres north of The Croft to 37 metres south of The Croft
● UB701 Croft Road, Sudbury from New Street to Gainsborough Road.

This is to facilitate repairs to defects in the carriageway. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
● for Gainsborough Road - the A131, the A1124, the A1017, the A1092, the A134, the A131 and no vice versa
● for Croft Road - New Street, Prince Street and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure, there will be a suspension of the one-way traffic on:
● A131 Gainsborough Road, Sudbury
● A131 Gregory Street, Sudbury.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 8.30pm on 12/05/2026 - 5.30am on 13/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5310 HESTLEY GREEN, THORNDON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5310 Hestley Green, Thorndon from Greenacres to New Cottage to facilitate the replacement of electrical poles and re-stringing overhead wiring. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Hestley Green, the B1077, High Street, Hall Road, Hestley Green and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 12/05/2026 - 14/05/2026 from 8am - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C938 BECCLES ROAD, REDISHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C938 Beccles Road, Redisham from 334 metres north of the junction with Redisham Corner for 30 metres northbound to facilitate access and egress for large vehicles for works in private land. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Beccles Road, Redisham Corner, Halesworth Road, Hog Lane, the A144 Halesworth Road, Top Road, Ringsfield Road, School Road, Redisham Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on the following dates:
● 21/05/2026 from 8am - 6pm
● 19/06/2026 from 8am - 6pm
● 23/06/2026 from 8am - 6pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
