Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Elstead Road (C23) Shackleford as extends from its junction with (X23) Elstead Road access to Hurtmore Holt to its junction with (C23) Grenville Road. Alternative Route: (1) Elstead Road, Shackleford Road, (B3001) Milford Road, (B3001) Elstead Road, (A3) Milford By-Pass, (A3) Guildford- Godalming By-Pass, and Elstead Road; (2) Elstead Road, Hurtmore Road, (A3) Guildford- Godalming By-Pass, (A3) Milford By-Pass Offslip Road, (A283) Link Road, (B3001) Elstead Road, (B3001) Milford Road, Shackleford Road, and Elstead Road.This Order is required to facilitate overhead telecom cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Runfold Diversion (A31) Tongham (Slip Road to (A31) Hogs Back) as extends from its junction with (C119) The Street to its junction with (A31) Hogs Back; (b) Hogs Back (A31) Guildford as extends from its junction with (C147) Down Lane and for a distance of 300 metres in a westerly direction.
Alternative Route: (1) The Street, (A31) Runfold Diversion, and (A31) Hogs Back; (2) (A31) Farnham Road, (A322) Bridge Street, (A322) Onslow Street, (A322) Woodbridge Road, (A25) Woodbridge Road, (A25) Midleton Road, (A3) Guildford- Godalming By-Pass, (A3) Midleton Road, (A3) Guildford- Godalming By-Pass, and (A31) Hogs Back. This Order is required to facilitate tree felling works for, or on behalf of Pro Landscapes. These works are anticipated to be carried out in 2 phases; First Phase: Works will be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Second Phase: Works will be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 10am and 3pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists via the operatives on site.

Bourneside Road (D3089) Addlestone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bourneside Road (D3089) Addlestone as extends from its junction with (D3089) Bois Hall Road to its junction with (D3090) Astor Close. Alternative Route: Bourneside Road, Jubilee Crescent, and Bois Hall Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate mains water repair works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Gresham Road (C243) Staines Upon Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Gresham Road (C243) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (D3289) Beehive Road to its junction with (B376) Laleham Road. Alternative Route: (B376) Laleham Road, Edgell Road, Budebury Road, and Gresham Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Morrison Telecom Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Elstead Road (C23) Shackleford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Elstead Road (C23) Shackleford as extends from its junction with (C23) Grenville Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Norney Lodge”. Alternative Route: (1) Elstead Road, Shackleford Road, (B3001) Milford Road, (B3001) Farnham Road, Seale Road, Littleworth Road, Cuttmill Road, Lombard Street, The Street, and Grenville Road; (2) School Lane, Shackleford Road, and Grenville Road.
This Order is required to facilitate road studs and lining works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 10 months, between the hours of 7pm and 6am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

D3086 Corrie Road, Addlestone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 06 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: – 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D3086 Corrie Road, Addlestone that extends from the north-eastern side of its junction with D7017 Joinville Place, to the north-eastern property boundary of “No.12 Corrie Road”. 2. Suspend “The Surrey County Council Station Road (B3121) and Corrie Road (D3086) Addlestone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to carry out water mains repairs and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9am and 4pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 09 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times only under direction of site operatives.

Northcroft Road (D3121) Englefield Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Northcroft Road (D3121) Englefield Green as extends from its junction with (D3111) Barley Mow Road to its junction with (D3121) Northcroft Road Footpath. Alternative Route: Northcroft Road, Bond Street, (A328) St Judes Road, and Barley Mow Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains connection works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 15 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Seale Road (C21) Elstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Seale Road (C21) Elstead as extends from its junction with (B3001) Farnham Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Turners Farm”; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Seale Road (C21) Elstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” in its entirety. Alternative Route: Seale Road, Littleworth Road, Suffield Lane, Fulbrook Lane, and (B3001) Farnham Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Morrison Telecom Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Onslow Street (A322) (Friary Bridge) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of Onslow Street (A322) Guildford (also known as Friary Bridge) as extends from its junction with (A281) Millbrook to its junction with (A3100) Park Street. Alternative Route: (1) (A281) Millbrook, (A281) Quarry Street, (A281) Shalford Road, (A281) The Street, (A281) Horsham Road, (A248) Broadford Road, (A3100) Old Portsmouth Road, (A3100) Portsmouth Road, (A3100) Park Street; (2) Pedestrian Route: Onslow Street, Cycle Track Onslow Street, North Street, Onslow House Service Road, Friary Subway; (3) Portsmouth Car Park, Park Street Subway, Park Street, Bridge Street Subway, and Park Street/ Cycle Infrastructure. This Order is to facilitate bridge bearing replacement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 months, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure while works are in place, and all traffic (including pedestrians and dismounted cyclists), will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.

St Anns Road (D3002) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of St Anns Road (D3002) Chertsey (also known as “Hamperstone Bridge”) as extends from its junction with (D3002) Twynersh Avenue and for a distance of 45 metres in a south westerly direction. Alternative Route for pedestrians: Follow the Canal Path and across the unnamed footbridge to Twynersh Avenue then turn left along Twynersh Avenue. This Order is to facilitate concrete repairs to the bridge structure, dewatering works and/or temporary damming of the watercourse and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday only, within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 01 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Due to the nature and location of the works there will be no access through the works area and pedestrians will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.

Manor Way (D3187) Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Manor Way (D3187) Egham as extends northwest from the northern boundary of 16 Manor Way to the end of the road (affecting the section with even numbers).
There is no alternative route for this closure.
This Order is required to enabl e Affinity Water to facilitate water mains repairs and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 1 June 2026 for 5 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Gambles Lane (D237) Ripley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Gambles Lane (D237) Ripley as extends the access for Grove Heath Court and its junction with Grove Heath Road (D238).
Alternative route – Grove Heath Lane, B2215 (Portsmouth Road and High Street), Rose Lane and Hungry Hill Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Affinity Water to facilitate water main repairs and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 3 June 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be provided either side of the works site but not through it.
Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

D227 Burrows Lane, Gomshall Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D227 Burrows Lane, Gomshall. This Traffic Order is required to enable: – (i) BT Openreach to carry out telegraph pole replacement and/or cabling and/or maintenance works in D227 Burrows Lane, Gomshall between the junction with D222 Hook Lane and the southern property boundary of “Oak Trees”; works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm on 11.06.26. (ii) Network Rail to carry out level crossing maintenance works, to include signal/ telecoms maintenance and/or lifting level crossing, digging out wet beds and re-railing in the length of D227 Burrows Lane, Gomshall that is crossed by the level crossing and for a distance of 20m either side; works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 1am and 6am, within 3 nights from 14.06.26.
These works are anticipated to be carried out within 1 week of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives. Alternative routes: – (i) Queen Street, Shere Road, Middle Street, Shere Lane, Sandy Lane and Hook Lane. (ii) Burrows Lane, Hook Lane, Little London Lane, Park Road, New Road and Sherbourne.
