ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND CLEARWAY) ORDER 2026

A1150 STOCKTON ROAD, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council has made an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

1. No stopping at any time (clearway); and

2. the prohibition of the driving of vehicles on

A1150 STOCKTON ROAD

Phase 1 - Eastbound, from the east side of the roundabout at Whinfield Road eastwards to Little Burdon Roundabout

Phase 2 - Westbound, from the west side of Little Burdon Roundabout westwards to the east side of the roundabout at Whinfield Road

An alternative route will be signed via Whinfield Road, Salters Lane North, A167, Freeman’s Place, Haughton Road, Tornado Way, A66 for Phase 1, vice versa for Phase 2.

The Order is necessary to allow road patching and surfacing work.

The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 6th June 2026. It is anticipated that Phase 1 will be effective on 6th June and Phase 2 on 7th June between 0730 and 1930 hours for patching works. The restrictions will be in place at a later date for surfacing works.
