What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

B2050 Manston Road, Birchington (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow events to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 40MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of B2050 Manston Road, Birchington, on or after 22nd May 2026 until the events have been completed.

The speed limit is planned in 6 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - From 22nd May 2026 with estimated completion by 24th May 2026.

Phase 2 - From 17th July 2026 with estimated completion by 19th July 2026.

Phase 3 - From 25th July 2026 with estimated completion by 26th July 2026.

Phase 4 - From 30th August 2026 with estimated completion by 31st August 2026.

Phase 5 - From 11th September 2026 with estimated completion by 13th September 2026.

Phase 6 - From 7th November 2026 with estimated completion by 7th November 2026.

B2050 Manston Road will have a mandatory 40MPH



Addington Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Addington Street, Ramsgate, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 75, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Addington Street, West Cliff Road, B2054 Grange Road, B2054 St Augustines Road and B2054 Paragon, and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Adelaide Gardens, Liverpool Lawn & Albert Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Adelaide Gardens, Liverpool Lawn & Albert Street, Ramsgate, on or after 1st June 2026 until the works have been completed.

Phase 1 - Adelaide Gardens will be closed from 1st June 2026, with estimated completion by 17th July 2026.

The road will be closed the entire length.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Adelaide Gardens, Liverpool Lawn, Albert Street and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Liverpool Lawn will be closed from 6th July 2026, with estimated completion by 11th September 2026.

The road will be closed the entire length.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albert Street, Adelaide Gardens, Liverpool Lawn and vice versa.

Phase 3 - Albert Street will be closed from 28th September 2026, with estimated completion by 23rd November 2026.

The road will be closed from outside number 33 to outside number 37.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Hertford Street, Queen Street, Grundys Hill and Albert Street.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Liverpool Lawn, Adelaide Gardens and Albert Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Alpha Road, Birchington, CT7 9SU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alpha Road, Birchington, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 11 for approximately 500m in an Easterly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Alpha Road, Albion Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Foads Hill, Ramsgate, CT12 5EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow rail works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foads Hill, Ramsgate, on or after 5th June 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the level crossing, between the hours of 23:30 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foads Hill, Canterbury Road West, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Lord Of The Manor Roundabout, Sandwich Road, Cliffs End Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Grove Gardens, Margate, CT9 5RW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grove Gardens, Margate, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 31, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grove Gardens, All Saints Avenue, Wellis Gardens, B2052 George V Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Marlborough Road, Margate, CT9 5SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Marlborough Road, Margate, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 29, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Marlborough Road, Tivoli Road, Buckingham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Spratling Street, Manston, CT12 5AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spratling Street, Manston, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 16, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spratling Street, A256 Haine Road, B2050 Manston Road, Preston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Westbrook Road, Margate, CT9 5BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westbrook Road, Margate, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the side of Access Lock and Key Service to outside number 15, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westbrook Road, Sea View Terrace, Hatfeild Road, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
