What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 05/05/2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Kirkton of Menmuir – Edzell) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that wiring works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 12/05/26, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 31 days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit all vehicular traffic from driving and waiting in or on the C34 Kirkton of Menmuir – Edzell road from a point 1.7km or thereby west of its junction High Street (B966), Edzell in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 2.2km or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via C34 Kirkton of Menmuir – Edzell, B966 Brechin – Edzell – Gannochy, C35 Kirkton of Menmuir – Strathcathro – Dun. The reverse route applies.
