What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Cobden Road & Park Road, Hythe, CT21 6DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cobden Road & Park Road, Hythe, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 15 hours or until the works have been completed.

Cobden Road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Park Road will be closed at the junction of Cobden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Park Road, Albert Road, West Parade, St Leonards Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cock Ash Lane, Monks Horton, TN25 6DY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cock Ash Lane, Monks Horton, on or after 22nd May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 50m South from Upper Cock Ash entrance, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cock Ash Lane, Broad Street, Blind House Lane, Swan Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crete Road West, Folkestone, CT18 7AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crete Road West, Folkestone, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the Substation, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crete Road West, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Spitfire Way, Aerodrome Road, Paddlesworth Lane, Upper Arpinge, Lane From Junction Crete Road West And Danton Lane To Junction Arpinge Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sandling Road, Sandling & Saltwood, CT21 4HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Sandling & Saltwood, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 4 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Sandling Farm for approximately 960m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 10:00 and 14:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Road, The Green, Brockhill Road, Bartholomew Lane, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Stanford Intersection, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, Sandling Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Stone Street, Stanford, TN25 6DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stone Street, Stanford, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 101 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Kennett Lane and B2068 Stone Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kennett Lane, Hayton Road, Blind House Lane, Stone Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE (TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

For the safety of the public whilst the Folkestone Race for Life charity event is being held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic on Various Roads, Folkestone, as defined below.

Restriction: Road Closures from 7th June 2026 between 10:15 hours and 13:00 hours.

Road Name: Cliffe Road, Metropole Road West, Metropole Road East, Dixwell Road

Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: The Leas

Extent: Between the junctions of Metropole Road West and Earls Avenue.

Restriction: No Waiting from 08:00 hours on 7th June 2026 to 13:00 hours.

Road Name: The Leas

Extent: Infront of The Grand Hotel.
