What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

A258 Deal Road, Swingate (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow solar works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of A258 Deal Road, Swingate, on or after 3rd June 2026 for until the works have been completed.

The road will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit imposed at the junction of The Lane for approximately 100m in each direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.



Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, CT3 1PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, on or after 19th May 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boyes Lane, Cave Lane, Saddlers Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coombe Lane, Ash, CT3 2BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coombe Lane, Ash, on or after 19th May 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Whistlers Forstal, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coombe Lane, Moat Lane, The Street, New Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crooks Court Lane, West Hougham, CT15 7BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crooks Court Lane, West Hougham, on or after 22nd May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite Moorcomber, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crooks Court Lane, Queens Lea, The Street, Lowslip Hill, Elms Hill, Stonyway Lane, Doctors Lane, Church Lane, Hougham Top Road, Gravel Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Green Meadows, Eythorne, CT15 4GP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Green Meadows, Eythorne, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Kingsdown Road & Chapel Lane, St Margarets At Cliffe, CT15 6AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kingsdown Road & Chapel Lane, St Margarets At Cliffe, on or after 18th May 2026 until the works have been completed.

Closures are planned as detailed below, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Kingsdown Road will be closed from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 31st August 2026.

The road will be closed from the junction of High Street to outside number 992.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Chapel Lane will be closed from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 15th June 2026.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Kingsdown Road and Knotts Lane.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Knotts Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Marshborough Road, Marshborough, CT13 0PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Marshborough Road, Marshborough, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite Cornerbanks, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Marshborough Road, Beacon Lane, Foxborough Hill, Statenborough Lane, Sandwich Road, A256 Sandwich Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A257 Ash Bypass, Sandwich Road, New Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



New Street, Sandwich, CT13 9BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New Street, Sandwich, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

New Street will be closed outside number 49.

The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of Galliard Street and No Name Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Street, Dover Road, St Barts Road, Woodnesborough Road, Moat Sole, Cattle Market, Delf Street, No Name Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Southwall Road, Deal, CT14 9PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Southwall Road, Deal, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside 36 to outside number 39, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Southwall Road, Church Lane, Dola Avenue, Middle Deal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



St Radigunds Road, Dover, CT17 0XD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Radigunds Road, Dover, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 27A, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Magdala Road, Coombe Valley Road, Primrose Road, Primrose Place, St Radigunds Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sydney Road, Deal, CT14 9JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sydney Road, Deal, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 85 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of St Richards Road to outside number 76, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Richards Road, Salisbury Road, Court Road, Station Road, Sydney Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Vale Road, Sutton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vale Road, Sutton, on or after 3rd June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed near the entrance to Sutton Vale Holiday Park, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, Sutton Road, Pommeus Lane, Wingleton Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
