(Temporary Road and Footpath Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road and footpath.
Road Closure (Closed to vehicular Traffic):
A 41 metre length of road from the junction with The Avenue at the northern side of the closure, in a southerly direction to the Leisure Centre car park entrance.
Footpath Closure (Closed to Pedestrian Traffic):
An 88 metre length of footpath from the side of Number 8a to the front of Number 1a Dalton Avenue to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken.
Throughout the period of the closure any alternative routes will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Tuesday 26/5/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
